Beth Moore Makes Move To Reach Men

Living Proof Ministries announced the addition of a new staff member/teacher to their organization. There is much excitement surrounding this announcement because of the wealth of possibilities this addition will mean to Living Proof Ministries. Beth Moore announced on her blog the addition of a new servant Curtis Jones. Jones is her son-in-law and an ordained minister-the first to be on staff. Jones is expected to be instrumental in making Living Proof Ministries comfortable for men.
On that note, I have always felt bad that my husband never gets that kind of study, that kind of bond. Lets be honest, if you have done a Beth Moore study and finished it, you have created this bond with other women that you will never have any other place. Not to mention the amount of deep Bible study and knowledge that is gained. Maybe it is her humor, maybe it is the fact that you accomplished a momentous task by finishing pounds of homework while balancing your life or simply the act of growing closer to Christ. Whatever the reason, Men need those type of studies too!
I think this is an amazing step. You can't help but be shouting for joy about this work God is doing in this ministry. I can't wait to see the transformations it has in men's lives across the world.
To be brutally honest, I think this is something that men need even more than women do. Several years ago, my husband and I were not in a Godly place. We went to church, but our marriage was crumbling. That being said, despite several acquaintances from church, we really had no real friends.
We were going through a disastrous time headed straight for a collision with God. I can't tell you how helpful it would have been for my husband to have had a Christian male to be able to discuss things with as opposed to the males at his workplace who were not Christians.
Thank God for being there to pull us out of the sin pit we were in at the time. Neither one of us were living right. It was shortly after that when I did my first Beth Moore study, "When Godly People Do UnGodly Things." I can't explain how much it helped. I remember going home and sharing things I learned with my husband, reading out loud passages. It transformed our marriage, but at the same time he would comment that he wished he had those kind of studies.
The need has been there. Many say that men don't bond like women do. I disagree. Men need those same kind of close relationships as women do. I think they need it more than women. There are those things that we as women discuss only with one another. Why would we assume that men don't have those same things or issues that other men can only understand?
I am not trying to pull out a whole women submissive debate with this next statement. In my own life, my husband's actions and views totally affect my walk with Christ. I know our walks are suppose to be personal, but I can see a huge difference in our family when my husband is in the Word daily, excited about church, etc.
I can also tell you that my friends find it difficult to go to church without their husbands. We need men to step out and be leaders in Christ.
I am not saying that Beth Moore appointing her son-in-law is going to solve this issue or bring men by the millions to a closer relationship with Christ. What I am saying is that it is an amazing start. Opening it up to men is an excellent step. I am excited to see what this means for men and how it brings them closer to Christ.
Congratulations Living Proof Ministries for seeing the need and taking a step to reach men! For more information check out her blog at http://www.livingproofministries.blogspot.com or Curtis Jones bio at http://www.lproof.org/curtis_jones.htm

This morning, in my prayers, I included men - for the Lord to raise up holy righteous men with pure hearts and clean hands who do not compromise the Word of GOD. And then I came here and read this. Thank GOD for how He is moving on behalf of men. And thank you, Laura, for sharing this. Love, in His service, Sandra www.lioneaglesoar.blogspot.com
