Help! The Husband Is Driving Me Crazy With His New iPhone!

My husband stood in line today to be one of the first to get the new iPhone. He has wanted an iPhone since the very first announcement of the very first iPhone.
Today his dream came true. I know this might not seem like a big deal to some, but to someone who has lived with a Mac Geek for the last 13 years, today was a momentous occasion.
He has been out of control since finding out he would be able to get one. So, you see how my life was turned upside down today with this new device hit his hands.
I have been called, I have been texted, I have seen every major function. I have seen things I never want to even see again. I have seen my husband jumping and dancing in our hallway as he called a friend to brag about his new toy.
But, I have to admit, five minutes ago was the worse. I think I am ready to sneak the device out of the house, although I fear the repercussions of a downward spiral of depression until I had to pay thousands to the local mental hospital. Here is the conversation.
I get a text:
How is it going?
My response:
Good, only needing to write one more article.
Text:
Do you want some ice cream?
My response:
Yes, but seeing how we are in the same room, we could probably just talk.
I then listen as my husband laughs. He plays around with the Iphone for a few minutes.
Hubby: the closest ice cream place is Dairy Queen and I have mapped out the route.
Me: We have ice cream in the freezer.
Hubby: I know, but what fun is it to map out a route to the freezer. I don't think the Iphone can do that!
Please help me!! For the sake of my sanity, I need help. Thank God it is past bedtime, because the calls for today to family, friends, strangers from long ago have slowed. I fear what the morning will be like when he remembers some long lost acquaintance who he forgot to tell he got a new Iphone. Or my worse fear is when he runs out of people to tell and starts showing strangers on the street.
I covet prayers at this difficult time in my life.

I'm sure it's killing you, Laura. It would kill me too, being married to a Mac geek. Hey, wait, I have an idea. Give me his number. I'll send him a text message from a non-existent number and he'll be busy for hours trying to use all those fancy tools to figure out where it came from. That should keep him quiet for a little while...! ;)Ha! That would be hilarious!!!!
Cute and funny, Laura. Like most boys with their toys, the novelty will wear off soon. *fingers-crossed for you* LOL Thanks for sharing, I can only imagine your suffering. So yes, I'll pray with you!
Thanks Avis! I do so appreciate it! With so many programs and options on this thing, I am beginning to wonder if that novelty will wear off ;)! Thanks so much for the comment and support!
This is hilarious, I love it and so so true. I am a technophobe so can't relate to hubbies fascination but I do know a few people similarly afflicted!!Thanks Creative for the encouragement!
hi laura,
i can only relate as far as the kids go when they get a new gaming system or game that has been advertised for months, only, they're so happy to play, they don't say a word. i'm glad your husband got something that gives him so much pleasure. we all need that once in a while. sometimes, for me, it's simply a new haircut. it buoys us up. well written, and funny. of course, i'm here and you're there:)
thanks for sharing,
my best,
sueSue-I agree on the new haircut! I often try to see how long I can go without washing because I know I can never style it the same! Thanks for the sweet encouragement!Laura
I would like the record to reflect that, for today at least, Laura has used my new "toy" as much, if not more than, me!
But thanks for the patience with me anyway!ok, I am a little hooked too now! but it is your fault for bragging about it so much! ;)Thanks for always providing my material in my articles and being such a good sport about it!love you!
