My New Theory On the Unexplainable

In my family, we have quite a few unexplainable events that continue to puzzle us daily. For most would just dismiss these occurrences as random incidences, but the insanity I may possess on occasion has to have an explanation.

For instance, every few days or sometimes weeks, we will go to pull something out of the refrigerator in our house. When we do, it will be frozen. It has happened to everything from tea on the top shelf to eggs on the bottom shelf. Yes, we cooked slushed eggs the other day for breakfast.

Somehow, the controls at the top keep getting put on the coldest setting. We have grilled the kids and neither have any recollection or understanding of what we are talking about. They, in turn, have been ruled out as suspects.

My husband and I have not done it consciously. We have tested all sorts of theories such as our hands hitting it when we put the milk up, etc. The tests are always negative.

Hence, my new theory was born. I blame God. I have this theory now that sometimes God just gets bored so he messes with people. I can imagine him just sitting up there cracking up every time we go to pour tea and nothing comes out because it is solid as a rock.

I think he also gets a laugh as my husband and I turn to accuse the other. I imagine us getting to heaven one day and asking God about the circumstances. I imagine him just cracking up and having to sit down.

I think he has fun messing with us. My son realized just this morning that one of his shoe laces always ends up being longer before it is tied than the other one. It drives him insane. I chalk it up to God trying to make him realize what is important in a humorous sort of way.

How many times have you looked and looked for something just to find it two hours later right in front of your face? You know it wasn't there earlier because you looked. I think it is God having some fun with you.

Next time, before accusing others, enjoy a little chuckle. After all, what if it is just God up there trying to play a little game with you!

Oh my goodness, Laura! This is so hilariously sweet! I love your New Theory and have already subscribed to it. Saturday mornings is when God and I play peek-a-boo before I get out of bed. I think we're mentally healthy and possess the Fruit of the Spirit or we're either cracked nuts! (The latter said with much affection.)

Thanks Avis!! LOL! It is ok to be a cracked nut, right? We are all god's creatures! I have never thought of it as peek-a-boo! I will definitely remember that this weekend! Have a great night!!

Laura, Laura, Laura, you always put a smile on my face, and I think you may have something there, I think God has been messin' with me lately too, and you are probably right, he gets a kick out of it. I think, that your thinking is right on. I do that with the remote, or when I am trying to find something that my wife has asked me to get for her, and I look in the spice cupboard, and I take everything out looking for the whole cloves, and did I find it?? NO!!!! We have none...there simply isn' t any, I will go to the store and get some for the ham, then she opens the cupboard once, and its sitting right there in the front, I took everything out, how could that be??? lol, and hahahahahahhaha, I'm telling her that God is messing with me, that will get me off the hook!!! lol, Great story, and great read......your fan, and friend in pen, Gary....I'm back for awhile I think the overtime is over....lol...so I can catch up on my reading!!!! Great article.

My husband has always said he's going to live to a ripe old age because God's having too much fun with him. HE certainly does have a sense of humour!
Frozen tea is funny, but 'slushed eggs', yuck, that's just sick... :)
Great article Laura!
