Introducing Facebook Lite

We all love Facebook. I have talked to friends that I have not seen in years. While it is the greatest invention since chocolate candy, the majority of users do not have the capabilities to fully enjoy the site.
Facebook contends that 70 percent of it more than 250 million users are from outside of the United States. Users who are from countries where bandwidth constraints make it hard to use the current version. Did you ever imagine Facebook was that big?
The company has released a slimmed down version, Lite, for people with slow or poor internet connections. Currently, it is only available in India and the United States.
The new site is even more appealing to me, who could stand not having the apps or special boxes and find it really distracting. Believe me, I have over 100 invitations just sitting on my notification page. If you are a friend, please do not send me any invitations to join mafia groups, etc. I just let them sit. I do not want to offend you by ignoring so they just sit in my notification box. I guess I am begging, no more please!
Facebook Lite users are limited to letting users write on the wall and view others events and profiles as well as upload photos and videos. What could be more perfect?
Facebook has transformed my life. I admit that I spend way too much time on the site. I love that I can see how my friends from high school ended up in life. As kids, we would all imagine what we would be like as adults. Now we get to see that.
Not only that, we get to see our friends with kids that look just like them. And we get to watch them deal with the mistakes we made as kids when their kids do the same mistakes. It makes me laugh.
I grew up in a small town and being so far away has been difficult over the years. With Facebook, it is as if I am still right there with those same people I grew up with.
So, thank you Facebook workers and creators. Thanks for listening to your customers and continuing to build something that can ultimately bring the whole world together! Also thanks for thinking about those less fortunate in other countries. You are allowing loved ones from far away connect in ways they never dreamed that they would be able to.

I have good internet but I know a lot of people who do not - I am still explaining to my Gran what it is!However I am no terrified of Facebook as a friend of mine clicked on the "family" button and a box came up saying it was downloading TROGANS. He yanked out the plug but it did not stop what had already happened. Thus, he had to go out and pay for it to be repaired.I hope this is a one off (probably is as it's not in the news) but it proves you can't trust all sites.I don't have FaceBook by the way and don't know if I want to. But that's what I said about Twitter and look what happened.Connor! You have to try it! I feel like I am on an afterschool special :)we actually get the opportunity to talk more with our gran be/c she is on facebook. . .Sorry about your friend!! hope he got it fixed. . hope things are well with you!! thanks for commenting!
