Easy To Make Christmas Dessert Treats When Time Is of the Essence

We have all been there. It is close to party time or you owe a gift in two seconds and you have not even started.

If you are entertaining or gifting, these treats can be done in a matter of minutes without much effort.

Crme Drop Fudge - this is perhaps the easiest way to make fudge. Buy a package of crme drops from your local store. Empty the bag in a microwave safe container. Microwave for two minutes. Add an additional minute to melt completely. Stir and place in refrigerator to harden. You're done!! Extra bonus - Add a tablespoon of peanut butter or cup of nuts to the mixture before placing in the refrigerator.

Almond Bark - This is your safety net during the Christmas season. Stock up on it now. Buy both white and brown for yummy treats. A ton of different treats can be made just by melting the bark. Melt the bark according to instructions. You can then dip pretzels or the long pretzel sticks in the melted bark. Then take Christmas sprinkles and coat it on. These make beautiful treats.

Oreos - These can be fun to cover in the white bark or chocolate bark as well. They make rich treats. An even richer treat. Crush up oreos and mix with cream cheese. Roll in balls, then place a toothpick in the ball to dip in melted chocolate. Place in refrigerator to harden.

Peanut butter balls - These are a take on the classic peanut butter cup that everyone loves. Mix one cup peanut butter, mix one cup sugar and one egg together. Roll the mixture into balls and then dip in melted chocolate. Place in refrigerator to harden.

Make your guests do the work. Another great suggestion is to buy already made plain sugar cookies/gingerbread men or bake before hand. Then let your guest create their own treats. This of course will not work as a gift, unless you make it a kit for maybe a mom and her kids. But party guests will love getting to be a kid again. Make a table with chocolate chips, M & Ms, licorice, sprinkles, etc. It will be a hit!

Fruit - Fruit can be purchased precut. You can put out fruit dips or chocolate for individuals to choose what they want. An easy fruit dip is to take one jar of marshmallow crme and one package of cream cheese and mix together. You can add food coloring for a festive flair. Refrigerate until serving.

These are just a few suggestions to get you started. Remember ginger ale mixed with Sherbert is an easy punch. Do the lime punch to create a more Christmas look. Feel free to leave any other suggestions in the comment section below.
