Want To Blow Up Texas Stadium?

I have to think this is one of the coolest promotions I have seen ever. Kraft is holding a contest for kids in which the winner gets to blow up Texas Stadium. What kid wouldn't like that power?

Kids ages nine to 12 have the opportunity to tell how they have made an “explosive impact" on their community. The grand prize winner gets a trip to Irving, Texas plus spending money and gets to push the detonation button to destroy the stadium.

As someone who hates the Cowboys, there might be a little too much fun for this. I wonder if I could get my son to do some community work real quick. The deadline to enter is Feb. 5, 2010 and the detonation will occur in the spring of 2010.

All kidding aside, I know this is a marketing scheme, but I applaud Kraft for emphasizing to kids that community work can pay off. I also like the fact that they are directing this at kids because anyone could have just had some famous adult or spokesperson do the job.

The explosion will introduce a new product from Kraft: Cheddar Explosion, their newest Macaroni and Cheese. My kids are big mac and cheese fans, so I am curious about this new flavor. In fact, every year when my kids are asked what they want for their birthday dinner. Their answer is always Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

The contest is nationwide so the kids do not have to be from Texas. How awesome would it be for a nine year old to be able to say they blew up a building? Pretty cool. I would want to be able to say that!
